Water sanitation & Hygiene

Although Government and other none governmental organizations are trying to address access to water challenges in Uganda, rural community members especially in our operation still fetch dirty water directly on ground and move long distances to fetch clean drinking water. This is still contributing to the increase of poverty among households by spending on treating diseases that result from drinking dirty water and the more time spend in moving and line for clean water at distant clean water sources.

The same is affecting children’s education because they are much involved in fetching water from distant places both at school and while at home. This takes their time that would be used in classes to concentrate on the acquisition of knowledge.

Community Hope Development Foundation is working towards ensuring rural community access to clean water through working and planning together with beneficiary community members in the identification, protecting and construction of water sources, constructing water storage tanks to increase water volume and piping water near community households and institutions such as schools. There is a plan to construct rain water harvesting tanks in households and institutions that have no chance to access piped water.

We appeal and request for your advice and support to enable us reduce water challenges among our rural community as we fight diseases and poverty.
