General Information

Community Hope Development Foundation (CHDF) is a registered community based organization started in July 2009 following a meeting of two community members namely; Bithibanji Adidas and Syahangene Yona who are residents of Nyakasojo village, Nyakabingo parish, Bulemba division in Kasese district.  Bithibanji Adidas was a community based facilitator and a member of a village health team in Bulemba division. 

They brainstormed on the possible strategies to help address the diverse social problems not only health issues that were affecting the community members of Bulemba division and they decided to initiate and formulate a community based organization in the names of Community Hope Development Foundation.

Community Hope Development Foundation  is aimed at restoring the communities’ hopes in social, political, economic and cultural development in their localities. To the two founders founded the organizations aimed at bringing the community members together to identify community challenges and suggest possible mechanisms to address them.

HOW THE ORGANIZATION WORKS

  • Has the founding body of 2 members who guide the interest of the organization.
  • Has board of trustees who are elected from within the community it operates in.
  • There is no membership registration in the organization but the organization identifies and utilizes the knowledge and skills of community members on specific project activities.
  • The organization provides annual activities plans and reports to the board of governors who displays it to the general assembly comprised of program beneficiaries and community in which it operates

OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION

  1. To promote early childhood development for enlightened generation of children and youths in the community
  2. To increase communities awareness, engagement and advocacy for improved health, sanitation and hygiene situations in their respective households and communities
  3. To empower youths to be able to actively participate in the four major facets of  development  namely; social, political, economic and cultural development in their localities
  4. To increase community active involvement in addressing environmental issues in their community for sustainable developmentAlready saling to friends
